About the Society

Since 1992, the non-profit Hornby Island Elder Housing Society worked to create and maintain safe, comfortable and affordable rental housing for Hornby elders. In 2018, Hornby Island Elder Housing joined forces with ISLA (Islanders Secure Land Association) and is now known as the Hornby Island Housing Society, and is dedicated to providing affordable housing for residents of all ages at our new development at Beulah Creek. (You can read more here.)

However, the Elder Village is our original flagship. The Village provides eleven small homes designed specifically for elders in a neighbourly setting, located close to Hornby’s Co-op centre.
